KiwiRPG Week 2026 may be over for the year, but that doesn’t mean that TTRPG events aren’t still happening across Aotearoa New Zealand! Read below to find out what is going to take place for the rest of 2026.
Convergence – September 12th & 13th in Hamilton
Convergence is a 2 day games convention based in Kirikiriroa, Hamilton. The aim is to give new and experienced players a chance to meet like-minded people, make new friends, try new games and have a blast doing so. The name comes from the idea of all the different game systems coming together in one space. There will be 5 gaming sessions over the weekend, so plenty of chances for you to try new systems, or the same systems with new people.

Many KiwiRPG Members will be running their games at Convergence! It’s the biggest TTRPG event in the country, with many awesome Kiwi games, seminars (maybe keep an eye out for familiar faces!), merchants and vendors, and more!
(Meant to get this post out earlier, so apologies for the short notice!)
Buy tickets and keep an eye on games and seminars as they’re announced here.

Multiple KiwiRPG members running games, including some Kiwi made games. Several KiwiRPG made games are being playtested here, so get in early to some awesome upcoming games. All proceeds from ticket sales go to charity, so it’s doubly fun – play awesome games AND help young people!
Chaosium Con – 21st & 22nd November in Wellington
Chaosium is the world’s oldest publisher of tabletop roleplaying games, and in 2026 we are bringing one of our exciting annual Chaosium conventions to New Zealand!
What is ChaosiumCon? ChaosiumCon is a weekend dedicated to playing and celebrating the many TTRPGs Chaosium publishes, including Call of Cthulhu (investigation and horror in the 1920s), Pendragon (knights and quests in the age of King Arthur), RuneQuest (epic bronze age fantasy adventure) and many others! Over the past 50+ years Chaosium has published many different TTRPGs, Boardgames and Card games. These and Chaosium-adjacent games e.g. Arkham Horror, are welcome to be played at the Chaosium Cons.

It’s super exciting that Chaosium Con is here in Aotearoa! It’ll be bringing lots of awesome folks in TTRPG professionals here, and give space to conversations about games and TTRPG publishing! There’ll be a bunch of KiwiRPG members there, as Chaosium games are much loved by many of us.

Honourable Mentions:
These are a couple of events that are more widely pop culture or gaming focused, that aren’t entirely TTRPG events, but have some amount of it!
Wishcon – 26th & 27th September in Timaru
WishCon was born from an excess of enthusiasm—four passionate fans of geekdom with a shared mission: bring the fun back into fundraising. What started as a simple idea to create a local event for gamers, collectors, cosplayers, and families has grown into a heartfelt project to build community, celebrate fandom, and raise money for a good cause—all at once.
At the core of WishCon is a love of gaming and the belief that these hobbies can unite people across all ages and walks of life. We’re creating a space where everyone can feel welcome, explore their passions, and connect with others—right here in Timaru.
While our event raises money for charity, our approach is different: no pressure, no pretence—just fun, community, and shared joy doing what we love.
